Diamond grinding and resurfacing of stone is our main area of specialism. Travertine restoration is a service that is provided for floors that are scratched, etched or that over time have become dull and worn. We use the world’s leading diamond grinding and polishing technology to restore the surface of your travertine.
The full restoration process involves up to 8 stages beginning with a grinding phase to even out poorly laid tiles and remove scratches or etch marks from your travertine floor. This initial phase is essential to ensure that the floor is flat, to allow the finer grit diamond abrasives to work most effectively. Following this, the natural pits in your travertine floor are filled by hand with epoxy resin that is colour matched to the stone. This creates a smooth and homogenous finish akin to when the floor was initially installed.
Contact UsThe desired finish is then achieved by a system of higher grit diamond segments and pads that can be used in stages for matte, satin or high shine. Our specific edging equipment and hand-held tools allow us to get a full treatment right up next to skirting boards, kitchen units and edges to leave a flawless finish.
Travertine restoration is a service that is suitable for floors that are in need of renovating after years of wear and tear but is also applicable to correct damage at any point from installation.
As a chemical free process, travertine restoration using this method is an eco-friendly way to enjoy natural stone for many years.
Contact UsWe follow up with all of our clients around 1 year to 18 months after our initial visit, based on our professional opinion of when further work is likely to be necessary.
