Having marble or limestone surfaces in a bathroom is one way to add a touch of luxury to your home. Natural stone is a popular choice for floors, sinks, shower walls and bath surrounds.
Both marble and limestone are acid sensitive. With strong acids, you will see the effects of this instantly. Known as etching, this is not something that can be wiped or cleaned off.
Tap water is not always PH neutral which means that over time, this can have a similar effect on stone. This coupled with the use of strong cleaning chemicals are the main reasons why our professional restoration services are sought after in a stone bathroom.
The frequency of professional maintenance visits will depend on the cleaning regime as well as the number of people using the bathroom. It will also depend on the initial restoration works undertaken.
For many of our clients we will recommend a more comprehensive restoration service on our initial visit. This will mean that for subsequent visits, the stone is likely to only need a light restoration. We also aim to create a bespoke programme for each of our clients and can discuss this with you during our survey.

We used Athena to refurbish a 20 year old limestone floor and granite worktops. The floor was very scratched and damaged in a few places, and the granite needed some TLC. David and Terry spent a full day working on both and we’re delighted with the results. Its saved us a very expensive and messy job in having the floor replaced.
