Natural stone never goes out of fashion. We are excited to see that the interior design trends 2025 back this up once again.
Vintage is a key interior design trend 2025. It is the epitome of longevity when something that was designed decades ago can slip into a modern day home. It is also a win for the environment too. Recycling and upcycling reduces waste and the demand for new manufacturing. The added bonus is that the likelihood of someone having the same vintage piece as you is rare. It is bespoke by its very nature.
Much like natural stone. Your unique stone floor is the perfect vintage feature and a great starting place to design your dream abode. A tumbled travertine or an antiqued limestone the perfect floor to compliment your new reclaimed oak dining table. It also wins in the age category too with fossils from the prehistoric era. If you are renovating a property with an existing stone feature then you also can tap into the vintage trend by restoring it.
It seems that a back to basics approach is also in the rise when it comes to interior design trends 2025. Checkerboard tiles, mosaics and the random patterns of terrazzo are starting to lose favour to sleek minimalistic surfaces. This is observed particularly in kitchen design where the bold is being replaced with the subtle to create a more homely effect. Comfort seems to be focus with warmth created by texture rather than colour. This is great news for limestone and the softer hued marbles too. It could be that 2025 sees that back of Calacatta Viola and Panda White in favour of some of the more subtle varieties.
To compliment both of these interior design trends 2025 we find a colour scheme dedicated to comfort and nature. This is great news for natural stone as terms such as earthy tones and biscuity neutral were made for marble. However beige does not mean boring. Crema Marfil oozes luxury and there is something playful yet classic about the pink tinged tiles that are rising in popularity.
It is no surprise with the above considered that biophilic design remains a top interior design trend 2025. Biophilic design is all about connecting space and people with nature. It is a response to the built environment and the sedentary indoor lifestyle that so many of us find ourselves consumed by. Whilst a houseplant or two might suffice for some, living walls are becoming more commonplace as well as more focus on lighting and brightness in a space. When it comes to materials, wood and stone are the key choices for anyone looking to follow this trend. It shouldn’t just stop at flooring and furniture though. A marble vase, a slate coaster or a limestone serving bowl add a small nod towards the earth and the beautiful resources is provides.
