We are delighted to announce that our Director Becca has been honoured with an Emerging Talent Award.
The accolade was presented to the top ten individuals who have made a positive contribution to the industry. The ceremony held as part of the Natural Stone Show in London.
The Emerging Talent Awards are about recognising and rewarding the achievements of those at the beginning of their career. The judges also aimed to highlight the organisations that are helping develop and foster the future of the industry.
Over the last 5 years Becca has developed Athena Stonecare not only to grow the business but to secure our position in the stone industry. Her approach is focussed on educating those that work with natural stone on how to maintain and care for it. As part of this, Becca developed our Athena Aftercare guide. This is a first-of-its-kind booklet that outlines how to care for any stone surface from the day it is installed.
The Athena Aftercare guide which was launched in 2021, was originally developed for our own clients. The booklet is now distributed by Stone Suppliers across the UK. Building partnerships with Stone Suppliers has been central to the growth of our services. We are now the recommended maintenance partner of many fabricators. Further to this, our expertise are sort after as a leading specialist in stone restoration and maintenance. By working closely with other industry professionals we can support them to provide quality aftercare for their clients.
Above and beyond this, Becca has led in the development of Women In Natural Stone in her role as Co Chair. Women in Natural Stone (WINS) was formed to create an opportunity for women within the natural stone industry sector to connect. In addition, the group aims to encourage the next generation of women into a career in stone. As a strong advocate of supporting young women in their career, Becca has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the WINS mentoring programme and networking events.
