In a large property, a porous limestone covered the entire ground floor including kitchen, diner, orangery, and entrance. This had proved very difficult to maintain and was heavily stained from years of wear and tear. The client was considering covering the floor as they were so sick of living with it.
The only option to restore was to grind the limestone floor tiles down to the level of the grout before resurfacing. A sample area was carried out before completing the restoration across 8 days.
Included in the service, during 8 stages of diamond resurfacing, a densifying compound was added. This helps to harden the soft limestone and reduce the porosity. As a result, not only was the client left with fresh and new looking limestone but also a floor that will be easier to maintain going forwards.
